Workforce Development through Registered Apprenticeships

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected  that the occupations with fastest growth and the newest  job openings  through 2030  will include the fields of healthcare, health IT, energy, and cybersecurity. Many of these occupations are entry level positions requiring minimal qualifications and basic technical training that can be met through Registered Apprenticeship Programs. At the same time, the cost of higher education may deter youth from pursuing a college degree immediately after high school. For such students, apprenticeship is a proven alternative pathway to a successful career. Employers also benefit by filling their workforce needs  with workers custom- trained to their specific need and workplace culture.

Hand in Hand Healthcare Solutions is approved by United States Department of Labor as a program sponsor of Registered Apprenticeships for the following high demand healthcare occupations:

  • Community Health Workers

  • Certified Nursing Assistant

Registered Apprenticeship Program Highlights

● “Earn as you learn” model with paid on-the-job training (minimum 2000 hours) and

mentorship

● Includes related technical training (minimum 144 hours)

● Results in a nationally recognized, portable credential

● Requires a partnership between employers, training providers and organizations that provide the talent, such as schools and community-based organizations

Intermediary’s role

Intermediaries serves as a liaison between stakeholders demystifying apprenticeships and help create programs. We have a goal of building a diverse workforce with a focus on enrolling under-represented and underserved populations. We can provide technical support including curriculum design, training development, guidance with registering the program with Federal and State agencies and help with navigating funding resources.
